Stephen Ministry
The Stephen Ministry Program at First Baptist Church of Jefferson was initiated in 2007 with the senior pastor and two lay members attending the Stephen Leader training in Pittsburgh, PA. Following the Leader Training, a class for Stephen Ministers began in January 2008. From the initial class, the church ordained seven Stephen Ministers. The program continues as a small but effective program to minister in a confidential one-on-one manner to church members. It is anticipated that a new class will begin in 2010 following the new senior pastor’s attending the Leader Training.
