WorshipWhat is Worship?Robert Webber with the title of his 1985 said that Worship Is a Verb. Worship is something that we do, not something that we attend or watch.
To worship is:
To quicken the conscience by the holiness of God,
To feed the mind with the truth of God,
To purge the imagination by the beauty of God.
To open the heart to the love of God,
To devote the will to the purpose of God.1
We, at First Baptist Church of Jefferson, Georgia, gather weekly to worship our Creator and Redeemer. Our services are blended in style as we seek to use the best of traditional and contemporary music to open our hearts and minds to the working of God in our lives. We also listen to hear the voice of God through our pastor's sermons. In our times of corporate worship we try to provide opportunities for children, youth, and adults to participate in the process of worship.
