2021 Proposed Amendments
Constitution Amendments recommended by the deacons:
Article I, Section 6 Voting Rights
Add as a new item:
(5.) Major Financial Decisions When the church is faced with an unbudgeted financial expenditure, the decision to proceed and how to fund the item(s), it is to be approved in the following manner:
a. Items not exceeding 10% of the total annual budget may be approved by the Administrative Board.
b. Items between 10% and 20% are to be approved by the Deacons upon recommendation of the Administrative Board.
c. Items exceeding 20% are to be approved by a congregational vote upon recommendation of the Administrative Board and the Deacons.
d. Capital expenditures for major renovations or new construction must be approved by a congregational vote upon recommendation of the originating committee(s), the Administrative Board, and the Deacons.

Article III, Section 4.
(5.) Deacon Officers. 4) c. The off-going deacons will compromise the nominating committee for deacon officers. They will nominate two candidates for Chair Elect from those deacons who have two or more years of service remaining. The nominee receiving the most votes will be the Chair Elect and the other nominee will be the Vice Chair. They will also nominate one candidate for Executive Secretary. The Chair Elect, Vice Chair and Executive Secretary will serve for one year. The floor may be opened for additional nominations.
