WEEKDAY PRESCHOOL

Welcome to our Weekday Preschool Program!

Preschool Director: Katie Fulcher

Mission Statement:

The preschool has been an outreach ministry of First Baptist Church of Jefferson since 1979. It is our mission to provide the preschool learner
with a developmentally appropriate and creative environment which seeks to meet the needs of the whole learner. This will be done in a Christian environment in which the learner may grow spiritually, socially, physically, emotionally, and mentally.

First Baptist Preschool is a member of the Georgia Preschool Association

You may contact the Weekday Preschool office at (706) 367-5226 or by e-mailing us. For directions click here.

PASTOR’S MOMENT:

Often, as we read and study Bible stories, we lose sight of the fact that these were real people who experienced the same emotions of excitement, confusion, wonder, and fear that we do. I like to think about the disciples during this Holy Week and the emotions that they must have felt. They had spent three years with Jesus and witnessed all the miracles that He had performed. They had heard all His teachings but still didn’t understand exactly the mission He was on earth to accomplish.

When Jesus is arrested, tried, and crucified all the disciples flee, save John. It is incredible to think about the thoughts and emotions flooding their minds. Have we been fooled? Is Jesus really gone? What do we do now? Is it all over? Studying Scripture, we have the advantage of knowing the end of the story, but the disciples did not.

It is hard to imagine the joy, wonder, and awe that filled the women and the disciples when they entered an empty tomb. This could only be topped by seeing the risen Jesus in person. This Sunday, we celebrate this exact event: the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus for our sins. Throughout the coming days, stop and take time to reflect on what it must have felt like for the disciples. Reflect on how you felt before coming to faith in Jesus. Aligning our hearts and minds with the spirit of the season will help us to celebrate Easter Sunday in a more meaningful way.

In His Service,

Matt
