PASTOR’S MOMENT:
As the song states “It’s the Most wonderful time of Year!” Your response upon reading that lyric may be, “Wait a minute preacher. Aren’t you off by about four months?”
No. This is the most wonderful time of year. Christmas is a special season to celebrate our Lord Jesus’ birth but nothing compares to Easter.
Over the next three weeks we celebrate the fact that our sins are forgiven because of the Cross. We also celebrate the fact that our future is secure and even death itself will not separate us from Father in Heaven. There is hope in the darkest days because our Savior lives.
Join with your church family and friends this Sunday as we look at “The Word of Trust.” Afterwards the worship service there will be a time for our children, parents, and grandparents to enjoy an Easter Egg Hunt.
Mark all the events at FBC in your calendar and celebrate Easter with us. You may catch yourself humming It’s the most wonderful time…….
We also wanted to make everyone aware of a ministry opportunity. With combination of our worship services some of our children’s and nursery volunteers are performing other duties. Presently we need 4 to 6 volunteers who will give one Sunday a month to be in our children’s rooms and help check children into Sunday School and Children’s Church. You can find out more about this need by signing up in the vestibule or by calling Karen in the church office (706-367-8332)…or you can contact our wonderful Children’s Department coordinator, Jessica Ferguson, who is willing to answer any questions. Her number is 678-986-1347.
See you Sunday at 10 AM for Sunday School and 11 AM for worship!
The Best is yet to come!
See you Sunday expecting our Lord to change lives!
In His Love,
Danny Hedgepeth

PASTOR SEARCH COMMITTEE REQUEST:
Your Pastor Search Committee has been working since mid-November on a regular basis. We have requested you pray in your individual groups in support of our mission and we appreciate your willingness to bathe this endeavor in petitions to the Father. As we are reviewing resumes, discussing who we, as a body of believers, are and how that fits into the calling each applicant is feeling from God, now we are asking for an addition to your prayers.
On Wednesday mornings, as you begin your day, and speak to God, we are depending on you to make a part of that time, not only a petition for guidance, but to thank God and praise Him for walking with our church through this journey. Pray also for those we will talk with, for their families and especially for God’s will to be followed by both this committee and the prospective new pastor/shepherd.
God has promised that wherever one or two are gathered He will be in the midst and as we raise our petitions for guidance, that is assurance for His continued leadership. Thank you for each prayer for the committee as a whole and for each individual on the committee, Greg Keith, Kevin Charles, Brian Ferguson, Ronnie Hopkins, Jennifer Moore, Steve Hix, Diane Oliver, Martha White, Mary Ann Brooks. As a body of believers, we look forward to praying with you each Wednesday morning as well as the times of your individual small groups.
MINISTRY & MISSION OPPORTUNITIES:
Annie Armstrong Easter Offering/Week of Prayer: Annie Armstrong’s devotion to Christ led her to a life of service and leadership. She organized women to pray, to give, and to meet the needs around them. She challenged pastors and churches to action and rallied vital support for missionaries. Ultimately, Annie was recognized as a national Southern Baptist trailblazer for her visionary leadership that still inspires millions today.
“What a glorious thing it is to be a co-worker with God in winning the world for Christ.” Annie Armstrong
FBC Jefferson has chosen to celebrate our 8-day week of Prayer for North American Missions from Sunday, March 19th through Sunday, March 26th. During this week, you’ll read about missionaries reaching Native Americans in South Dakota, Romanians in New York and more stories of missionaries serving in communities with great gospel need. These missionaries do not serve alone. They have a support system of millions of Southern Baptists like you. Your prayers during this week and beyond make you an essential part of their mission team. At the bottom of each daily story and prayer guide is a link that will allow you to visit their featured video.
You may pick up a prayer guide and Annie Armstrong Offering envelope in the church office. We have a prayer guide for each person and one envelope per family.
