16th Annual Turkey Can Run 5K

Thanksgiving Day – Thursday, November 28, 2024

About the Turkey Can Run

Our Annual Turkey Can Run, now in its 16th year, is a 5K race hosted every Thanksgiving Day to benefit our very own FBC Jefferson Food Bank. The food bank assists hundreds of Jackson County families every year, and the annual 5K race is an opportunity to ensure that the mission of the Food Bank continues to provide food to those in need throughout the community. Our Turkey Can Run is the only Peachtree Qualifier in Jackson County, and it is the largest 5K in the county. In 2023, we had 932 registered runners, and this year we look to increase that number.

Pre-Race Information

Anyone can enter this race, and it is a qualifier for the Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta. Entry fees are $15, PLUS 15 canned food items. For runners who register and pay by November 24th, race number and t-shirt pickup is available in advance from Monday, November 25th to Wednesday, November 27th from 5-7pm in the church fellowship hall. Canned goods can also be dropped off at this time.
